Fiona Munro is a fully qualified, accredited Ortho-Bionomy practitioner
For decades I’ve had an on-going curiosity and fascination with how people might access physical ease and grace. I believe being as comfortable as possible in our bodies makes a significant difference to how we are in the world. Physical ease hasn’t always been a breeze for me. I’ve sustained serious injuries including 3 herniated vertebrae discs, severely degenerated vertebral discs, spinal arthritis and rotator cuff injuries. Most of these were a result of my early days as a trapeze artist and physical theatre performer. Rather than list all the injuries & past health issues, suffice to say my journey with Ortho-Bionomy has opened the door to a new level of physical ease and freedom of movement. I continue witnessing this happen for other people as well as for myself, making my role as a practitioner endlessly rewarding and interesting. |
Fiona's qualifications
I am an accredited Ortho-Bionomy Practitioner with 2 1/2 decades of experience working with physical ailments, pain management & relaxation.
Prior to becoming owner of The Healing Switch I was a qualified yoga teacher at the Australian School of Yoga, Bondi Junction and a Lomi Lomi masseuse (Hawaiian massage) at the Sydney Ka Huna Centre, Paddington.
I continue to study with advanced instructors who are senior students of the late Dr Arthur L Pauls, a British Osteopath, black belt judo instructor & founder of Ortho-Bionomy. In my advanced training my studies included working with specific conditions using the principles of Ortho-Bionomy, for example trauma resolution, neurological dysfunction and fibromyalgia.
My therapeutic body work is also informed by over 2 decades of mindfulness meditation and a daily Qigong (Chinese health care system) practice. In earlier years I was a dancer, trapeze artist and physical theatre performer.
The human body possesses an enormous and persistent capacity to heal itself.
Our bodies go in and out of balance naturally. Sometimes we require assistance switching back to places of ease, increased functionality and vitality.
